I was really thrilled when my good friend approached me for his new Sambal brand, Teri Biru (means blue fish in Javanese). He expressed his interest in Japan’s minimalist aesthetic, designs that are mostly straight forward, modern and clean. Despite Sambal being a traditional condiment, I have managed to fuse Indonesian batik with the Japanese minimalist style. The outcome : logo, pattern and visual element.
